Anyone got an idea on age or origin of this ring? Just found it after putting it away many years ago. Pretty unique, handmade piece, but thought it might look familiar to someone in style to a particular craftsman, place, or culture. Weighs 22g, opal could be mexican per a reputable appraiser.

Sandog - if the metal we see here is sterling silver, scrap value today is about $11.50 in U.S dollars -scrap metal buyers will pay nothing for semi precious stones ..so I'm a little confused as to your comment about scrap value .

Sorry Argentium, didn't mean to cause any confusion regarding the possible origins of this ring. That is my purpose for posting it here where I have seen many items identified. You are absolutely correct in your comment about the scrap metal value. That is a business I know nothing about. Thanks for that input.
