So me and the guys went out near a river a did some shore mding. Found these two guys roughly 30' from each other one was submerged in about 10" of water. Need some help I.D.ING what they could be. Definitely know they are not silver or gold and lead. Hit it with Mapp gas for about 40-60seconds and they never changed shape or burned with color. Really stumped!!!!

Back in the very old days, nearly every home had a improvised forge. It is mostly likely the drippings from one of these forges.

So nothing of value then, you think? I was perplexed by how this metal has been sitting submerged in the Ohio river for quite sometime and shows no signs of corrosion. The detector marked it as silver. But I do know for a fact it is not. Thanks for checking my post.

Its melted Aluminium can.

By the way, any metal under water in anaerobic conditions will show little sign of corrosion, unless in salt water where you get a chemical reaction.

No its not aluminum can either. Like I said early on in the thread I ran Mapp gas torch for 60 secs on it and it did hardly anything. I did a test on aluminum can to see how it would react with the can and it melted within three secs.
