Found this chain with a handle and rings through it not far from a flat button! Any ideas? Haven’t researched yet. It’s about 3 feet

My first thought was a calf pulling chain.

Does look like a trap chain. I've heard them called cinch chains.

At one point (in much younger years) I had in the neighborhood of 30 doz. traps. Seen a chain or two... 8-)

Found one at civil war site and someone id it as artillery trace chain.
