Mysterious black ring appears in the sky over Williamsburg

Not sure WHY I'm bothering
all these Pics were most likely not shot the same Second
or even the same Minute

Different angles would make it appear to have Changed shape

I Don't believe Every Unidentified Object in the Sky is a Weather Balloon or alien Either

Ok. Here we go.
It's a smoke ring. One of the photo takers said it dissipated in about 10min.
Question is- where did it originate?

From pics and info from the video and-Here
I have deduced.
It most likely originated from-
Near the vicinity of the Vehicle Target Range
On Fawn Rd

Truck with a clapped out deisel backfired it from the exhaust stack.
Or ....

OK, bout time I confess. I was driving with the top down and my halo blew off.

I saw a diesel locomotive start it's engine once and it blew a big back smoke ring that increased in size the higher it went.
