Did the tag have the name "SNOWBALL" on it? We always wondered what happened to that cat!

Tis the season A2, Get lost in the season of giving and enjoy some family time. I tried to hunt yesterday, I drove to different sites and the ground was frozen everywhere so I looked for surface coins and shallow targets. Now it's time to go through the pics of this year's hunts, round up the good finds and make "The Keepers of 2016" post.

Oh my, that certainly tops any of my bad finds...talk about deppressing.

Thanks everyone and Kevin your right gather my years finds and you all also have a great Holiday!!!!!!!!

Once upon a time ago, I was digging with a gentleman near the Battle of Saylor's Creek, Virginia. He was working the local homesites dating from Civil War times. As he told me the story, some years later, One day he found a large lead chest buried. Dug it up. Inside was a child's skeleton with a Sharps carbine bullet in it. That is the worst find ever. If I remember correctly he reburied the whole thing.

Yes that would be much worse!!!!!! I always wanted to hear a post of peoples worst finds that would make some good reading!!!!!!! Some of them anyway!!!!!!

I don't even know what to say to that.

Congrats does not seem appropriate.

Most of my "Worst Finds" have been eyeball finds. Some were Voodoo Ritual Sites with dead roosters or goat heads. I came across a partially open manhole cover in an isolated overgrown area that was being used as a party spot in the woods. Very dangerous for someone not paying attention to where they were stepping.

You cracked me up, A2. I can only imagine digging up a cat carcass. But it got me to thinking...as many areas as I've hunted, I can't believe I've not had the same experience yet. I haven't looked to see if TNet already has one, but you got me thinking about a "Worst Finds" forum. There's got to be plenty more such stories.

ive never found any buried animals, but the thought
had crossed my mind a few times and thats the reason
i buried my dogs without collars and a large old river
slab with names engraved

sooo does that make you a grave robber.....or maybe a cat burgler......sorry I couldnt resist.

Tommy, You can have that fluffy white junk! It is 17 today but no snow up in the mountains. YEA!!!!! I am only 5000 feet above sea level though compared to your 840'

I have found a few dog tags luckily no dog attached. YECH

Ya don't often find a cat that has run out of lives..........
Would have been worse if the tag had an "if lost" telephone number..........I wouldn't want to make that call!!

No way I gont think it was very old even if it was I didn't want it lol

Congrats on the Cat/Tag !

pic ?

by the way, I moved this to Years Totals since it is Not a Today's Find & You thanked the Members for Posting their Years Totals,
So I felt this was "Maybe" more appropriate. ?

Too bad you had to work at retrieving that target. Fortunately all of my dead animals are eyeball finds! :icon_thumright:
