Saturday, I had a little bit of excitement while MDing in the garden spot. It was recently plowed and with the rain we had the last couple of days it was kind of muddy. Had been in here before the rains, and found the hammer that fell of the tractor, and a few old nails & stuff. Towards the upper end had a good tone and the MD was registering on nickle so I pinpointed and started digging. Out pops a snap looking thing, within a 3' area I found 3 more. My heart was beating fast cause I really thought I had something. I hurried to the house to check under the magnifying glass...SAUGATUCK Dry Goods Company LTD, I googled that name and it told me that it was a name brand by K-Mart for jean jackets.
Later in the afternoon, went back out after the rain quit and went to another area of the garden, I was hearing ding, ding, ding and tried pinpointing the area. Started my digging in the mud and this coin looking thing flopped over in the mud. I started whooping and hollering I was so excited...rushed over to the water trough to rinse off. "Where A Kid Can Be A Kid" I was so dishearted, I wanted to murder some kids. The kids are the 5 year old twins, grandsons of the cousin who lost their home during Katrina and living in our farmhouse.
Today, I hit the back pasture where I was finding all the Indian artifacts. I found 3 half way decent points, the rest were flakes or chips and a few pottery shards.
Well, it was good to get out, the weather is cooler and I did find something.
