I've hunted for at least three years now. Over the years, I've recovered buttons, tags, bottles, bullets, tools, coins, and everything in between. I've gotten coins from the colonial times all the way up to the clad trash of the present, with an emphasis on the mid twentieth century. I never found an old silver, until today. Behold...my first barber dime! It was in my oldest TOC bottle dump that I was meaning to sift. As soon as I hit the frozen soil with my shovel, out popped a disk. I thought it was going to be one of those separator things under the bottle cap. That is till I picked it up to find one of the nicest barbers I have ever seen. May it be the first of many. (Also a meyer overall button.)

Congratz! That is a very nice looking dime!

Congrats of the Barber. My first silver was a Barber dime, I was SURE that I would finding them all of the time... little did I know that it would be over a year before I dug my second Barber!

Yours looks really nice, excellent detail.

Best of luck to you!

What a great looking dime!!!! Congratz What part of Tennessee?

I go to school in Nashville but am home for the holidays in CT at the moment :]

Congrats on your first. We all remember every first
That's what is so good about this hobby, the first just keep coming. When your hands quite shaking it wont be fun anymore. [emoji106]

Awesome! Congrats on your first and a great looking one at that!

So I know that it is impossible to accurately grade without seeing it in person, but does anyone want to give it a tentative grade?

Congrats on pulling that sweet barber, :occasion14: they are as rare as hens teeth in my area. 2 seasons into the hobby and have only pulled 1 Barber dime.

Congrats on the great looking dime! I've dug a number of early coppers and just last month a seated dime, but the early silver (including barbers) has continued to be elusive in my hunting areas. Great job! HH

Nice find , way to hang in there :occasion14:

I KNEW A GIRL WITH THE NAME BARBER .. NICE FIND ....

Nice find. It's funny how that happens right?! My white whale is a silver dollar. Congrats on the Barber
