My twisty vine collection

Fossis,

Really love your twisty vine collection. I have made hiking sticks out of cypress & Chinese Tallow. With the Chinese Tallow a honeysucker vine can wrap around and make the tree have the spiral/twisty look. I sold many and donated many...just ask those lucky people who got theirs at the MO hunt. I have not made any this year cause we are killing off the invasive tallows, but there is one (my prized possesion) pictured under daily shots (farm tools).

Hey River Rat, I noticed that twisty vine stick
when I read your post, looks good.
I have sold hundreds, & given away dozens, to friends
& family, I can't keep enough on hand of the one's that
the "Honeysuckle wraps around."
I had one made of "cedar", that was beautiful, the
red heart, & the light wood together, gave it away !!
still looking for another one. :'(
Pic's of "snakeskin look", traded for it, red cedar one
was made by (Rooster Cogburn), a 102 year old man,
related to the Marshall of the same name, who rode for
"Judge Issac Parker" the Hanging judge of Ft. Smith Ar,
Remember the John Wayne movie?
I understand he is in a nursing home now in Polk Co
Ar, around 104 or 105 years old.
I took him a load of cedar to carve, & he gave me a
"hippy stick" as he called them, he sold them to Texas
vacationer's.

The type of plant that does this is called bittersweet it has small orange berries that have petals on them. I also have a few walking sticks that I have found over the years while walking in the woods. Just thought you might like to know. Moah
