I,m new to this hobby so I really don,t know when I find something special or valuable.

So thought I,d post these and see what is what.

My father always told me---if you don,t know---then ask !!!

those are some excellent finds. hopefully someone here can help you identify the Canadian military devices. most look WW2 era to me, but the one with the boar's head looks more WW1 era

Thats some awesome looking stuff there.Congrats and enjoy your hunting.

I'd say the Railroad baggage tag is the best/most valuable of the bunch but I like the Boar's head badge too. Can you read the working on it?

can you read the wording on it...(the boar's head badge) ....lol, not the working.

VIXEA NOSTRA VOCO

...."The words "Vix ea nostra voco" are Latin and associated with the Scottish "Campbell" name as well as many other clans and families. The phrase means "I scarcely call these things our own". The motto relates to the principle of stewardship, that we don't really own anything, we just look after what we have throughout our lifetime.

29.gif ALL ARE COOL

That boar's head is very interesting and only the second item I see with it and I found the other one...a suspender buckle with a crown and a boar with Honi soit qui mal y pense which means "Shamed be he who thinks evil of it"

great finds, man! love the old Canadian military badges :) I've found a couple myself... always a thrill pulling them out of the dirt!

Congrats !!!!! Sometimes ,I find myself looking for these kinds of items more than the coins.

the first photo or the ship...is that piece silver?
can we see the backs of the badges? the pins are a more accurate method to date the piece.

NOT SILVER

un-sure of the material or date

will maybe try a few pics of the backs of some of them

Those are some awesome finds. A big congratulations on them. By the way, are you any where near Spencers Island ?

YES ............SPENCERS ISLAND ..is not very far from me

Just curious. I visit my buddie of 60 years there. He owns a RV park there and is the only American to own a lighthouse in Nova Scotia.
