My personal best for '08

Trade silver heart broach found about a week ago and definitely my best find for '08, so far.
Hallmarked by Robert Cruickshank. He was a silver smith employed to make silver ornaments for the fur trade. He worked as a silver smith out of Boston and Montreal from 1767 until 1809.

Very nice find. :thumbsup: I like it when you're able to ID a relic from a picture like that with absolute certainty. :icon_sunny: I was able to do the same thing with a 1700's stirrup I found last year. It was pictured in a Revolutionary War artifact book.

Very cool indeed. That is why I love this site, I wouldn't of had a clue to what it was. Now I have a question are the circles on the top for something or are they just part of decoration?

Circles punched out are just for decoration. Where the circles are punched out above the heart is supposed to represent a crown.
