Amazingly thin 2 3/4 by 1 1/2 found by me in Thonotosassa Florida (Hillsborough County). I was told that it's a Suwannee so I'm sticking with that. I showed this point on my first post here; that was only 1 picture so I just wanted to show it again with different angles.

That one is pretty! They are hard to get. I got my first one when I was about 25. A paleo ax/chopper about the same time and it took over 30 years to find another one!

Great point!! That's one more than I've found. The only one found around that I know of was years ago when a neighbor was digging a pond. It was down several feet.

I've been looking for my second one for years :icon_silent:

Love it!
I looked up Suwannee and saw that examples that have out-turned ears at the base.
Not saying I know for sure, but it has an Unfluted Clovis look to it.
The flaking is beautiful. The pictures aren’t clear enough to show grinding.

It has light base grinding, no extreme grinding; the inside light wasn't working with me when I took the pictures (I know they aren't that great). I agree that it has a unfluted clovis look too it, and at first I thought it was some type of Clovis. A few Florida old timers told me Suwannee so I just stuck with that. I'm terrible with point types and figured they knew more than me.

I just looked up Suwannee myself and you're right, most examples do have out-turned ears, a few weren't that out-turned but more than the point I posted. Got too love the mysteries that comes with this hobby.

If not a Suwannee I'll go with unfluted Clovis, no problem calling it that at all. :laughing7:
