My only gold finds in 6 years...

I took this last week off from metal detecting due to a semi-severe encounter with poison ivy last sunday & I was bored so I took better pics of my only gold finds to post.
The wedding band was my first gold ring found by accident as i was scouring an area for large civil war-type bullets that I'd found there before. If i remember correctly it was about 3 inches down & signaled as a penny/aluminum screwcap on the detector. It was found on its side under the plug.

The diamond ring was found on one of my very few "purposely-looking-for-gold" outings that I occassionally took up in the past. Was a real suprise as it registered as a 32 VDI (pulltab/ring)signal on my XLT & I was expecting just another pulltab. It was also about 3 inches deep.
In the past I rarely dug trash signals, but i dig more now. Still hoping to find gold currently while using the bigfoot loop (long rectangular-shaped loop)... just gotta keep at it.

Smokin Hot finds!! I can't wait to score some gold!

Those are gorgeous. ;)

How do you like your big foot coil? I see they make one for my little Prizm. I don't know if it would be worth the $$$.

Very nice, Jim! Congrats on the gold, was a long time coming but definitely worth it. A friend of mine uses nothing but the Bigfoot on his White and has made a LOT of finds. Hope the itch ends soon (poison ivy), I mean>

I like it a lot actually. It is REALLY usefull for searching large, wide open areas that are not too trashy & where the coins arent too deep. I am having good success recently going over areas I have hunted out (previosuly with the stock 9.5 coil) ...finding coins I have missed. I am currently using it in conjunction with terry's 15 preamp program (to maximize depth) & i still find silver occassionally(mostly mercs) .
? It is truely amazing what coins one CAN miss with the stock coil :o

POOR JIM.....you haven't had much luck at all have you?? ?::)? ;D

Not ENOUGH luck in my opinion. I guess I DID get lucky finding diamonds when I found the second ring, but I wish I could find gold more frequently. 2 gold rings in 6 years isnt much. Digging trash (on land) hoping to find gold gets tiresome. :(
I am currently looking for gold once again ... this time using my bigfoot coil (long rectangular coil).
