I took this last week off from metal detecting due to a semi-severe encounter with poison ivy last sunday & I was bored so I took better pics of my only gold finds to post.
The wedding band was my first gold ring found by accident as i was scouring an area for large civil war-type bullets that I'd found there before. If i remember correctly it was about 3 inches down & signaled as a penny/aluminum screwcap on the detector. It was found on its side under the plug.
The diamond ring was found on one of my very few "purposely-looking-for-gold" outings that I occassionally took up in the past. Was a real suprise as it registered as a 32 VDI (pulltab/ring)signal on my XLT & I was expecting just another pulltab. It was also about 3 inches deep.
In the past I rarely dug trash signals, but i dig more now. Still hoping to find gold currently while using the bigfoot loop (long rectangular-shaped loop)... just gotta keep at it.
