I just found one too & my Dads Birthday was 1918 so that was somwthing

My Dad's birth year was 1918 also! Once while taking an archaeological class at the local college my professor allowed me to use my metal detector to pinpoint metal pieces on the dig site. The spot was flagged then later recovered using archaeological procedures, measurements and mapping techniques. One of the items recovered that I located was also a 1918 penny. What fun. Congratulations on your finds.
