Didn't find much of interest yesterday, although did locate the remains of a second structure that I'll go back and work a little more, but I did pluck this little gem from the dirt. Made my day.

I was in "relic" mode when I came upon this. Same with when I found the second structure but am open to suggestions. The area is hot for Civil War items, which is why I've been using "relic".

Nice going on the bust dime, by the wear on this one, I would say it may have been lost during the Civil War time frame, 40 years of wear, looks about right! :)

That was my guess as well. Figure the most likely would have been a Union soldier filling his canteen on the way to, or from the battle of Fredericksburg, as it was by a creek bed.

No way to verify that, but it sounds cool ;D
