Got my new/used F5, from fellow member, and have had it out on a couple of short outings. Went to my yard, which I been over a hundred times with other detectors, and still found several coins. Took it to the back bay and seems to work very well on the beach. Don't know that I'm interested in using it in the surf but was fairly stable in shallow water. Going to be a learning curve on this one cause there's lots of "bells and whistles" to learn. All in all I think this is a keeper!

not much of a curve LX Kid

thats the beauty of the F5. Nice and easy to operate! it may take a little while to learn its language.....but its a piece of cake to run! Streak!

Re: My new F5 came Tuesday!

I just recently returned to detecting after a few years away. I picked up a Fisher Coinstrike which I like, but I have a chance to also get a great deal on an F5. Might just pick it up as a second machine, as I have been reading some good things about the F5

Re: My new F5 came Tuesday!

I have an F2 and enjoy it quiet a bit great coin machine. The F5 looks like Fun :headbang:

Re: My new F5 came Tuesday!

Yesterday I found out my F5 doesn't like ball park lights. And they weren't even on. The buried power lines, from the transformers, were far reaching interferance.

Well I tried it, liked it, but just didn't seem to "ring my chime" like I thought it would. It was and is a fine detector but I like my Fisher Coinstrike, even though a bit of a challange learning to operate, and moved the F5 on to a new home. My detector closet is getting a little full and my wallet a little light. Would still recomend it to anyone though.
