I haven't been doing much hunting lately because for one it's just been to darn hot with temps in the mid 90's and heat indexes up around 103 and the fact that I had to work 6 straight 12 hour midnight shifts because of being off for the AACA show. (it was worth it)

I did manage to get out twice in the past 2 days and found one decent piece each trip. The first hunt was to a new spot I found while driving around looking at the flood damage we had last week. I found a field that had been turned in the spring and never planted that was washed down flat. I stopped and got permission and the man said he has seen flint in the field but had never looked for points. I managed one decent point and a bunch of flint which wasn't bad considering the first time there. I also got my heart rate up with the piece of "fluted" corn cob in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. I wish I had gotten an in situ before I picked it up after realizing it wasn't a point because it looked just like a Fluted Point lying in the ground. It definitely fooled me.

The second hunt was on the banks of the Ohio River and I came away with a pretty good Bi Pointed Knife made from a pinkish colored flint that has some wicked fire pops on it.

Nothing great, but still better that a poke in the eye. lol

Not bad at all. The water looks refreshing. Did you guys get a lot of flood damage? I know Iowa got hammered. Nice points.

Yeah, we got almost 7 inches of rain in about a 3 hour period on early Weds morning on July 21st and it caused really bad flash flooding. It washed one woman and her trailer away and she was just found a couple of days ago. Another woman lost her grip on a fence she was clinging too as her and her family tried to get out of the house and she was washed downstream and found 2 days later. Numerous houses were damaged as well. I was at work that night and my parking lot in front of my office was standing in about a foot of water. I have never seen that much rain in that short of period of time.
