This must be the year of the draped bust for me, since this one must be at least #8 in 2016. Below are hunts from the last two days. Yesterday was a new site and I got about 45 minutes in, scoring a c.1870-1890 padlock, a strap buckle, and a flat button. Also, two modern bottles I thought were cool...

Today's hunt was also another new site and the only targets I snagged in the hour I had was the 1803 Draped Bust Largie, and the silver rings. The Large cent rang in wonderfully at 5"

A little bonus "coin porn" of that 213 year old dirty girl! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1464915593.552267.jpg

Good digs and enjoy

Awesome! When it rains it pours...draped busts, in your case! Go'n for a dozen are ya?
Sweet finds! Congrats!
I like the old lock, i don't think i've ever seen the insides of one
Nice collection for a short hunt!

Way to go Scrappy. I love finding draped busts and yours is certainly above average. Nice old lock too.

Thx Don. The soil was kind to this one, but for every 10 I find, one looks like this. And of all those I've ever found, only one had a smooth patina to it.

This one was close enough to a homestead that it wouldn't have been located in any of the farm fields surrounding the house, thus explaining why it's not roached;)

I said the same thing yesterday on an 82 hit with the ATPro----"this is money"----dug down 14 inches for a clad dime :---(. won't be long before all the windows in your house have DRAPES :-)

Good digs!

I got a padlock similar to this last year. I found a date on it on the hasp, right at the top of the bend. But I had to clean it pretty hard to see .

Nice!

Nice finds Steve. Heck I'm still looking for ,my 1st draped bust. Looking forward to hunting with you soon bro.

Bart will be out of town, but Charlie and I will try our best to put you over one man. See you soon

Congrats on a nice DBLC Steve!

Much appreciated Steve. I think each year of detecting has a different theme. Last years was old Spanish silver, this year is coppers. But as long as it's something we'll take it! Lol

Cheers

That DB came up looking pretty sexy. nice one man.

Like the LC Scrappy and seldom do you dig an old lock with the internal parts like that. Only dug one complete one. WTG, Q.

Very true. I plan to clean it out entirely and get it looking sweet. Thx for looking

I have one of those type coin collection books.... That draped would fit in nicely...
Congrats on a great hunt!

I like the lock with the cut away look. You can display it both ways and who knows, maybe the front will show.... up along with your next 1803 DB.

Awesome finds Steve. Ive had my electrolysis tank running for 5 weeks straight now and last week I went to my dad's house to get my big box of locks to throw in the tank and I can't find them!! I'm so pissed because they are some of my favorite finds. Yours will look super cool cleaned up with the mechanics showing
