This must be the year of the draped bust for me, since this one must be at least #8 in 2016. Below are hunts from the last two days. Yesterday was a new site and I got about 45 minutes in, scoring a c.1870-1890 padlock, a strap buckle, and a flat button. Also, two modern bottles I thought were cool...

Today's hunt was also another new site and the only targets I snagged in the hour I had was the 1803 Draped Bust Largie, and the silver rings. The Large cent rang in wonderfully at 5"

A little bonus "coin porn" of that 213 year old dirty girl! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1464915593.552267.jpg

Good digs and enjoy

Great Finds! Wish the side of the padlock with the brass on it would have been intact!

Nicely done! I'm hoping for a largie AND a lock like that someday.

Man another Draped Bust! Congrats on yet another great old coin, and good job not scratching it while dealing with the roots.

Congrats on all those draped busts and a cool lock

Very nice LC! Beautiful and clear date! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Way to go Scrappy. I love finding draped busts and yours is certainly above average. Nice old lock too.

Well done a usual Scrappy.

I think that you have the CTX set on "Draped Bust"!

Best of luck to you!

Nice finds Steve. Heck I'm still looking for ,my 1st draped bust. Looking forward to hunting with you soon bro.

good job making it through those roots

Thanks Murray. There were a lot of roots in spots there, but this signal was clear as day, and in nice soft non-rooted ground.

Man another Draped Bust! Congrats on yet another great old coin, and good job not scratching it while dealing with the roots.

Thanks J. When I heard the signal I said out loud "this is money", knowing it was a good one. I honestly thought it was going to be modern silver, but I'll take this any day over modern silver;)

As far as roots - no roots. I actually dug a Lincoln cent about 8 feet away so this ground may have been "mixed grill" as I like to to say, meaning the layers were likely disturbed by earth movers at some point in time.
