My lady's first silver!

The gf found this one a few weeks ago in her first MD attempt. just getting around to posting it now. Found it in a friends backyard we think the house is pretty old but unsure of the date. Anyway found them together and thought they were junk at first but when we rinsed them off the one side clearly has sterling printed on it. I say its a handle of a knife spoon fork etc. and the other end is missing. really don't have any idea and don't know how to date them. Didn't find any other markings on it other than sterling.
Any thoughts? :dontknow:

Re: My lady's first silver!

Another possibility is off a vanity set, like hair brushes etc..

didn't think of that.
it's definitely the handle of something.

I'm pretty sure it came off a ladies dresser & most likely early 1900s

we thought that but doesn't seem likely they fit together perfect and the the one side is clearly marked sterling. Unless they made dressers with sterling silver decorations? I really have no idea.

no, I just meant it was a pretty silver handled brush, or mirror etc(maybe 2 different sets) that sat on the dresser
