My kid's Coinstar finds confiscated by employee

Ok, I've been sitting on my thumbs since this post started but I have to make some observations:

First, I see no problem with anyone checking return or reject slots on machines when they walk past them.

I don't know your kids and they are probably little angels but here is what the employee may see.
3 or 4 kids come racing up to the front of the store on bicycles, throw them down on the sidewalk and run into the store trying to beat each other to the Coinstar machine. These kids come in all the time with no intent to buy anything but only to get something for nothing. This causes a problem for other customers so the employee does what he has to do to stop it.
I'm not saying this is what happened because I wasn't there but then neither were you.

Whoever made the suggestion to tell the kids to accuse the employee of child molesting is a sorry individual. Why would you ever ruin a person's life over a few coins.

I would rather give my kids a few small chores and pay them for doing them than teach them how to scrounge a few coins. Seams like our whole society thinks they are entitled to something for nothing instead of working for a living.

I don't mean to scold anyone or cause any hard feelings. Just playing the devils advocate.

That was me. Go back & re-read please. It's a simple effective way to draw attention i.e. draw attention of possible witnesses. Another example, when I was training security guards one of the things I taught was to yell "Hey get your hands off me! Or don't hit me!" before it went to fists. By doing that everyone around would look and you'd have numerous people willing to fill out a witness statement where otherwise they couldn't be bothered, some thinking they saw an assault and they hadn't. The only way someone's life would be ruined would be if charges were pressed. I used to run into older women screaming FIRE for burglars. Finally got a chance to ask an older woman why she was screaming fire. Her answer? Because no one around here pays attention when you yell Police. Don't scold, comprehend, learn & apply what you learn.

Once I came across a drunk Indian passed out in a casino parking lot and he had hundreds of quarters scattered all around him on the ground. Imagine that. You pass out in a parking lot and some random person pours quarters all around you?
It took us most of the night to spend all those quarters but only an hour to drink a night's full of alcohol hehe. It was awesome.
