Detector(s) used
XP Deus W/11" coil and 9" HF coil, Garrett AT Pro W/5x8 coil
Garrett Pro Pointer
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Pictured below are my best finds for my first year including $103.73 in clad and 62 of 68 Wheat Cents. I've hunted everything from Civil War camp sites, houses built in the late 1700's and early 1800's to modern playgrounds and soccer fields. Hopefully with a better understanding of my detector the next year will be even better!

Very nice group of finds! Great job

Nice variety for your first year! Most people don't get to try hunting such a variety of sites their first year in the hobby.

Very nice display. You've been very busy and it paid off. Love the large bell.

Congratulations!!

looks like you had a great year. Congrats

What a GREAT year - Congratulations! :occasion14:

Congrats. That huge and varied lot tells me you worked some hard and long hours learning your machine. I just finished my first year as well and one thought I have had is " Do I continue mixing up the types of sites I hunt this upcoming year or do I concentrate on the ones that worked best my first year?". What are your plans? Good luck to you!

Good sites always worth a re-visit. Surprising what the frost might turn up for you. IE a coin that was on edge, may now be detectable / better signal.

Yes a good, very good result for a first year.

Awesome finds! That universoty pin/medallion is beautiful!

Thanks for all the reply's!

I'll probably continue to go to a variety of sites, but the old houses are probably my favorite because I like to find old coins and have also enjoyed finding the flat buttons. That being said the newer sites may have a greater potential to turn up gold jewelry. I live in York County Pa, about ten miles north of the Maryland line so there is a lot of history in this area going back to colonial times and also the Civil war. I've found that wherever I go around here you never what you'll dig up next.

That's my first and only gold so far. I was able to trace it back to the person it was given to in 1948, unfortunately he passed away in 2007.

Very nice.. it only gets better after you learn the detector and learn where the goods are.

Last year was my first year also....put in the time and you wil be rewarded !!!!

Careful though----- severe addiction will follow !!!!

Looks like you had an awesome first year.Congrats.HH
