In a NC park I dug up a 1941 British half crown along with a couple of old keys. It's holed and was used as a key fob. Not quite as good as a 1941 Walking Liberty (only .500 silver), but it's an unusual find and I like that about it.

Also found a smashed up sterling ring and a few wheat cents, the oldest being a 1918.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Thanks! I'll send you a message.

That's a sweet coin, congrats. I like the foreign coins better than the US ones, because they are rarer.

Well done sir!

Thanks, Tom. You've got a good point. Back in the 1980s, when I was 14 or so, I got my first metal detector and found an enormous bronze coin in a Washington, DC, park. It was a 1923 10,000 mark inflation money coin from Westphalia. I haven't found another one of those, I can tell you!
