Well Today i de-virginized my new detector. And my new detector de-virginized me. Its a good feeling. Anyway i live in california and so naturally i hit up the beach. I found 12 cents and a lot of aluminum and a few bottle caps. not very exciting. But i am pretty excited in general about this new hobby. I told my fiance if i find a treasure chest i'll share some of it with you. haha.
Since nothing i picked up was cool, i'll show you the cool sunset.

Alright, I changed my mind. You can keep your dang booty!! We'll just have to go MDing (metal detecting) together instead. :)
I'm still trying to figure out a way to get my Minelab detector in my carry-on luggage, since that's all I'm bringing with. :icon_pirat:

i have been and i think its fun. But i'm as new to researching detecting locations as i am to actually detecting them. So i'm trying to work up my skill before i start asking some old lady if i can go digging around in her backyard.

Focus on the ploughed fields where homestead's once stood. Forget the backyards unless they are big & old.

i live in agriculture land. Theres no ploughed fields i can hit up without digging up somebody's strawberries. The land around me is all US department of agriculture and National Forest and i cant dig up anything older than 50 years. I'm google earthing it for places to check out. I need a so cal MD buddy.

Sure brandon we can share. i mean a treasure chest has lots of stuff in it right. :) i couldnt keep all of blackbeards booty to myself. hahah

Clearly wait until the strawberries are picked :D

hahahahhaa

I got into MDing by virtue of going to a southern california beach at 3:00 AM with my wife and daughters. On that beach at that time of Morning/ night there were virtually a dozen people detecting. I was not sure what they were doing at first but did not take me long to figure it out. Watched as the litterly raced along then stopped and scooped the raced along again. Realized that they were gathering $ and jewlery.

Wife got me at ACE250 for christmas I have been detecting for two years averaging 100 days a year. I live in northern CA. still had the same problem of were to hunt. Started at the library, then the local historical society. Now too many places and not enought time. No earth shattering finds. But silver coins and gold neckless and rings have come. Old homes in town. Parks with and without tot lots, vacant lots with permission of owners. (usually realators) State parks where Md'ing is allowed and of course the beach. (phew). And the beat goes on!!

Enjoy your new Addiction and HHHH

this time to stop this addiction so healthy .... but if you stay at least a year will have treasure in casa.Intente detected in two ways, on the beach to find gold and field history depending on meteorological conditions .sale and thus more profitable.
