I started detecting March 2017 and have found a few junk rings but mostly only clad. Today I found my first Mercury dime (1945) I am thrilled. She was found at a park under a big old tree about 4-5" down.
she's a real beauty! congrats and as has been said, you will always remember your first silver coin. may many more be found under your coil. oh yeah, it's the same with silver and gold rings and yours will surely come too.

Great find, and congrats on your First Silver Coin! I still have mine, a 1958 Quarter, that I found with a Garrett Beat Frequency Oscillator machine (BFO), in 1971. Gold is going to jump under your coil very soon!
