Hey everyone, ive only been hunting about 2 months now, and tonight i met up with another guy that hunts near me and we went to a local park. We broke out some old maps circa 1875 and found where a house used to be that is now part of the park. Well, this hunt just about gave me a heart attack. I picked up a strong quarter signal on the ace 250 and it said 6 inches down. So i dug a nice plug, checked that and nothing. i then dug the sides out and and out pops a 1803 large cent coin. I called ed over and i mumbled to him, iiii think i found an lc. he looks at it and says, wow, you sure did. This hobby is really doin great for me. Along with the lc i found 61 cents in clad. Not a bad little one hour hunt. Hope to get back there tomorrow and rescan the area again. Thanks yall Greg Horning oh yea, i cleaned it with water and alittle soap. hopefully i can send it to get cleaned and slabbed. Well, i cleaned the coin to the best i could. I then put some patrolium jelly on it to bring out some more of the details. not a bad looking coin for 206 years old, lol I beleive its the common large cent. Looks to have a small date and large fraction. Oh well, its still a great find on my part, lol Thanks
