After digging for about 4 hours pulling up clad and bottle caps, I finally dug my first Indian Head. Can't complain about that condition! Still haven't broken in to the 1800's yet.. but that's for another day.
HELLO! That's one thing I love about MN, that rich black soil preserves coins very well, especially copper. It looks like an MS-63 from the coin shop in the pictures. Congratulations, the IHC is my favorite coin.
Fantastic IHP ! The detail on that coin is spectacular. I dug a IHP over the weekend and our soil is hard on them. Green patina on it thick, can't even read the date.
Great find and HH!
That is one fine specimen of an Indian for sure. I'd probably get a nice necklace and penny holder for that one and where it around and flaunt it's beauty. Way to go mate. Go find the rest of the tribe.
