I guess I should explain that I found a half of a penny, and not really a half penny. A play with words? Had a nice hunt today with 25 clad/ memorial coins, 7 wheats, 25,36,39,40, 2 46's, and a 56. I also found a 1941 1 franc French coin and what I believe is a really toasted Indian head. I may try to soak it for awhile to try to get a date. What I think is some kind of button. I need anyone to chime in with what you think this memorial cent is with a normal reverse, but no front to the coin. There seems to be a lip around the side where the face should be. Last i found this weird blob of silver that I have no idea what it was in its former life. It tested to be silver. Any thoughts? Keep swinging and happy hunting. Cool finds, great play on words. You may be able to pick some of the corrosion off the IHP if you soak it in mineral oil or EVOO for a day or 2 and pick at it with a toothpick, if not limited electrolysis might be your only recourse.

Nice hunt. Love the Franc.

Still a nice hunt :icon_thumleft:

Great bunch of finds I am thinking your odd memorial penny to be a magician's coin

It is soaking in olive oil right now. If that doesn't work then I will take your advice about electrolysis. Thanks.
