I borrowed a Radio Shack detector from a friend. (It was covered in dirt and battery corrosion from hanging in a barn.) after cleaning it up and looking for a manual online (my first foray into detecting) I learn it's basically a bounty hunter model. I hit the backyard.
My home was built in 1897 in upstate SC. Thought I'd have a decent time there. Dug a ton of junk (fence, posts, rods, etc.) and a few metal squeeze tubes.
On the interesting side I found a 1986 penny, a 1977 penny (it gets better lol,) a couple of ax heads, a toy car and a silver necklace charm. The charm and car were awesome to dig.
So, now I've got my own gear on the way from Big Boy Hobbies. Looking forward to getting more time in.
