Hello all, brand new to detecting. Just got my Bday Garrett last week so I went in my backyard of my 1972 built house and got devoured by the blood suckers. But I did find a sweet hot wheels, at least I didn’t get skunked. Going to an old homestead behind my house on Sunday, hopefully get some better results.

:hello: Hello and welcome from Southeast Louisiana... "D"

Went out today between the rain. One area was a field that used to have a house but the weeds were over 5 feet tall, need to go back in the spring. Went to the local park, found lots of junk and one 1936 wheat penny

Welcome from Western Massachusetts! Where there’s wheat pennies there’s often silver nearby. Let me know what type of Garrett you’re using. If it’s the AT Pro I can give you lots of advice on how to turn it into a silver monster that will be sure to tick off your detecting buddies!

Welcome from Southern Louisiana. Congratulations on your first but not last of interesting find. Never quit

Welcome and happy hunting...we have all found plenty of those. You will find plenty more!
