Hello all!
Took a vacation day from work today so i could do some detecting but woke up and couldn't decide where to go. I ended up going to local elementary school where I've had very little luck at in the past..i think before today I've pulled one small brass ring and a Wheatie or two. Well i thought today was gonna be more of the same as i started in the rear playground and found 26 cents. I decided to circle around the school to the front where the baseball diamond is..and it was more of same, clad. Well i decided to make my way back to my car and had to walk past this 50ft by 100 ft section of grass that was basically the inside of the turn around for the student drop off and said what the heck...first signal - wheat, then a few more wheats..Hmmm..silver has got to be here somewhere..i decided to grid off this section and I'm glad i did..got a super sweet 12-45 on my etrac and saw this..
57 Rosie! I knew there had to be some silver..let me keep going. Not far from the Rosie i got a beautiful 9-46 12-47 signal that sounded so good i just wanted to keep swinging the detector over it..after i made my etrac sing me a song i dug my plug, pushed Back a little dirt and saw this
I could see the RTY from the word liberty and was thinking quarter, awesome..i was pleasantly surprised to see this pop out..
1950 Franklin Half Dollar! My first ever half!..kept swinging and a couple rows over got another sweet high tone ringing in quarter range about six inches down and dug this
A 1953 Washington! I also dug up what has to be a record 9 boy/cub scout tie clips..lol..i think i have about 14 of em now.
What a hunt! I'm so happy to have dug my first half! Those are silver coins 34-36 for me this year/ever.
HH everyone
