What's up all, yesterday me and Mirage hunted with Don and Dan, as Dan said. The finds in the woods were extremely sparse, once you got away from the iron right near the foundations. If the brush didn't exist, you could hold and read a book with one hand and swing the MD with the other, looking up if you happened to get a signal. I got lucky and found a silver washington, a merc, a war nickel, a wheat, and two shotgun things in the same hole. I also got 2 small bullets (the big one in the pic was elsewhere). I'm sure there's more silver there just randomly sitting in isolation. At the other site, I found a silver Rosie at about two inches, much shallower than some of the clad. Some dirt musta been moved, as the ground was hard/rocky and depth didn't make sense on alotta stuff. It was cool hunting with both Don and Dan.
Me and Mirage did a little hunting on Thanksgiving, at a school that I found my deepest coin a while ago, an 1877 seated dime (in perfect cond.). The school doesn't look older than the fifties, maybe forties, so it's possible the old finds are coming from houses that used to be there or something. Anyway, I found a small silver necklace piece, and an 1872 indian pretty deep. The penny has bold liberty (despite the crust), in great cond. just like the 1877 dime. I was right when I said that there had to be more, and there still has to be more old stuff from that time frame there. The merc was at a local spot that hasn't produced for us really till now, as it's very trashy. I'd be back at the Iceberg today, but Mirage is still recovering from yesterday, I guess. Take it easy yall, HH!
The date is basically unreadable to the naked eye.
