OK, I didn't exactly find her while hunting but........I think I have found a detecting buddy for the rest of my life.
This is my 2 year old daughter "helping" me out. Although this wasn't really a "hunt", I got the kids (8 of them at one time) together at the recent Thanksgiving family gathering and introduced them to metal detecting, in the front yard. They were all very interested and of course, they fought over any coin or piece of junk that I dug.
Enjoy the pictures.
Take someone hunting, share the wealth, and preserve our "sport".

Thanks to everyone for the great replies.

As I stated in my original post, when I went out the door I knew it wasn't going to be a "real hunt". Even though the yard has a lot of potential, I knew I wasn't really going to be able to hunt it. It didn't matter, just getting time to spend with the kids, share one of my passions, and show/teach the kids a little something about history.

At one point my 2 year old daughter was holding onto the rod of my detector and "helping" me swing it back and forth. They all had a BLAST. One of the older kids is talking about getting rid of his radio shack machine and getting another.....mission accomplished.

Love that smile!

DC,
You are a real treasure finder! Kids and discovery, there just isn't a better pairing out ther!
Congratulations! My daughters have both grown up into "girly girls", and don't want to get their hands dirty anymore.
I wish I had taken them out more when they were still into it!

Merry Christmas!

Mark

Your little treasure reminds me a lot of one of my little treasures! Looks like fun!
