There is one area near me that has several Korean banks. Saehan Bank (in Buena Park) just got robbed an hour ago and something happened and the manager is now a hostage with a police standoff outside. The manager I have seen was a Korean woman.

There is usually a Korean guard out front. I have gotten over 1000 big dollars and hundreds in loose halves here.

Do they sell them to you readily? The asian banks Ive asked for halves here are less than friendly

It depends on what brand of Asian bank you try out.

Korean banks tend to be very friendly and helpful. Now, there is a big Chinese community 10 miles north of me and Chinese banks tend to be rude and full of rules that I think just get made up just for me, cause I am a white boy. I love to go in a few and call them out on that. (little do they know half my family is Japanese)
My experience old bat chinese woman tellers are often some of the most surly and unfriendly I also believe there is an element of racism on their part. On the contrary young americanized pretty chinese tellers are often some of the nicest and most helpful ( also helps that most of them no nothing about silver ) I have a few of these sweeties even put halves aside for me

Is it still "wild wild west" out there?

Cyberdan, this definitely brought back the memory of a few years ago about two guys with all the fancy armours outgunning the LA cops.

In gang country it sure is but not as bad as the mexico boarder further east.

That shoot out you are talking about happened 15 years and two days ago. I can still remember that one. Our police went to a local gun store and "borrowed" some high powered rifles and ammo to even the odds.
