And....My gold metamorphosis loot........... :)

I am proud to be a coin and jewelry hunter and have been so for many years. My 100,000 coin mark is close at hand.

I have been a Garrett user for many many years. I started out with a cheap Radio Shack TR model. It beeped on everything, and I dug everything. I spent more on 9 volt batteries then what I found in loot. My first year brought in $26.00. Then a buddy who was a Garrett user took me out and I discovered discrimination that actually worked. I bought my first Garrett 15 years ago, and have been using Garrett all along. I tried several other brands, and they got coins too. But Garretts were built tough, made in North America and had a profiling (sizing) feature not available on any other machine. And that has made all the difference in the world. As soon as I bought the GTI 1500, my yearly coin count went up substantially.

Last years end total was $615.03. This years total (so far) is $617.67/6,216 coins. Another 3 weeks to go. ;D

A little hunting every day. It all adds up quickly. No pain. ;)

John, of all those Garrett machines you use, which is your favorite?

Well, that's hard to answer. Probably the GTI 2500 because it can do more things and has the true all metal mode. Each machine has its strengths in different environments. The Infinium works best in water and heavy mineralized soil. But is limited to areas with less junk or hunted out areas. Because its a Pulse Induction type, it has limited discrimination qualities, but goes "DEEP"

The ACE is so much fun to use. It performs well in sports fields. I use the large coil to cover more ground, and most of my finds are in the top 4 inches. It pinpoints well, and I can pop up my coins very quickly.

The GTP 1350 is a general coin hunter. I like the profiling (sizing) feature, which can size a coin size object faster then the GTI machines. It is also good in trashy areas. I had previously used the GTI 1500 for many years, but gave it to one of my nephews who showed an interest in metal detecting.

I think most people who really get into this hobby own more then one machine......

You have to make time. I am married with 4 kids living at home and work full time. It's a balancing act for sure ;D

Nice work John! Keep up the good work! ;)
