Today I hit the field and found my best point of the yr. I found quite a bit of variety of artifacts and of course dam-its. I will post these 3 and then will add the rest later. I was pumped today after finding this one. rock
Its not the nicest looking as in color but it is perfect in design and no dings on it at all. My next trip I will wear my snake boots and check the spring out before the leaves fall and cover it back up. It was looking quite clear and I was tempted but I just figured there would be something that I didnt care to see without my boots.
Thanks everyone, rock
I don't know if you have one.. or if you'd be comfortable in the water but ...springs often have alot of light loose material in them..and along the creek or stream they feed.
Most items like fossils and artifacts will be below that layer.
Sifting is by far the best way to find them when its like that.
No sifter just a bucket with holes in the bottom I drilled in it. Havent tried it yet though. Somebody has a deer stand at the edge of the spring so I cant hunt for artifacts on the weekend cause they do hunt deer there but during the week I can go and look. Ill let you know when I get there as usual
