I believe this belonged to a Sargent Major George Roeder of Company A 116 Pa. I know he camped where it was found. This is the best thing I have dug since I started. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do! The rest of the stuff I found today is in the last picture. :headbang:

Update. They only camped at this spot for 1 night. Poor guy lost his pencil.

I see your still digging that great stuff man!
Good to see it.

You know.... This place has been hunted for years. But now that the finds are fewer you slow up and hunt the deep targets. Still pulling out tons of good stuff.

talk about a one of a kind find :icon_thumleft: thats a very cool keeper wtg ;D

I vote this for Banner. Anytime you find something personally identified from the Civil War (regardless of condition), it is a banner find! Killer!!! :headbang:

Hey thats awesome Mike, I dug today in a hut site 2 feet down a metal pencil holder with a slated pencil still inside., it being deep in the ground and good soil kept it preserved, I think I see mine is in engraved too but i am having a hard time making it out, i posted it in Today's Finds!! :occasion14:

Flashback thread , I thought this looked familiar :laughing7: from three years ago .
