A friend of mine asked me to hunt a place with him that's from the 1800's. There is apparently a spot where a home was & some fields.
I found over 30 buttons there but one is the best button I have ever found! It's a war of 1812 artillery button with almost all of the gold gilt still on the front and back of it. I could not believe how nice it turned out after I cleaned it. My buddie Rob told me a cleaning trick that Josh had showed him. It worked great on this button and another one. I have found many buttons over the years but I am really happy to find this one! There is also 2 Eagle butttons in the group.
I also found some nice coins. My favorite is a 1826 large cent & a 1832 capped bust half dime. Another nice find was a small shoe buckle dated 1860. There were some other neat keepers as you can see in these pictures. I want to Thank my Buddie Rob for helping me with these pictures & this post. And Thank you all for checking out my finds!

For some reason, those oval background buttons seem to Never have much or any gilding left on them. That is one first rate recovery, and by far the nicest button of that style I have ever seen posted on the forum.

A BIG Congratulations to you,

Buckles
