Hi :hello2: guys!

Here is my finds for yesterday. My first time out by myself. I will have to get them cleaned up tonight but was so excited by finding stuff lol.

Anyone know of a place online to search about fights, wars, or campgrounds around SC? I am wondering if the round thing is a ball bearing or a musket ball...and not sure what the 2 big things are lol.

Any ideas?

Looks like the Lead Ball is Pistol size to me. Good find.

PS. Just had another look & I don't think its lead so your first guess is probably right. Is it cleaned?

Something to keep handy is a small magnet.
It will tell you if a new item is ferrous, (iron), or not.
Congrats on your finds.

congratulation on your finds and new hobby. Was nice to be out digging wasn't it great job. I :icon_thumright:

If you are interested I have a reprint 1978 of the book Authentic Civil War Battle Sites Land and Naval with maps, corps badges / engagements / commanders paid 20.00 for it I believe not sure the costs today. pm me if your interested

Hi CRUSADER...I will be cleaning it tonight when I get off work :)

Hi against the wind....I have to find another magnet as I only had one from the frig and I guess it is to weak lmao

Hi freddy williams....Yes it was great! I went out there on my break from work today but it was not long enough. I ended up starting a hole that turned into a bigger hole, that turned into 2 holes, and that turned into a video on YT with questions lol I sent you a PM btw.

Thank you Skippy SH13 and trapperart !

Congratualtions on the solo hunting trip! :occasion14:

Nice finds! Congrats on your first finds solo!
Yep a magnet will tell you if its lead or iron. The one i found was white in color, another indication that it is indeed lead.

Ah, another one has caught the detecting bug! Welcome and best of luck to you in 2017!

The ball appears rusty like steel and not a lead bullet, dunno. Would help if your finds were a bit more cleaned up for better identifying. What I am 80% sure of is the larger piece in the upper left is an older style small engine ignition coil such as used on older outboard motors and lawnmowers.

You have some good finds. Is the one in the middle brass it looks like to me. HH...

That excitement is what keeps ya coming back for more! If you think it's high now, wait until you find something really great (definition of which is different things to different people!). The fun meter REALLY pegs out then! Congrats now, go dig some more stuff! LOL HH!

p.s. I saw your location on the SC forum so I'll PM you to some of the more local resources I use for researching sites that may help you.
