OK, this could be a hard one or an easy one for some of you with MXT experience.
I went to the "Convent" today and besides finding a 1941 nickle, I got a weak tone on VDI#94 (dollar) at an inch. I dug about 5 inches and hit a criss-cross of roots that I couldn't get through (for now). With the hole dug, the VDI stayed at 94 with a strong signal. I'm excited it could be a walker or better. Any guesses as to what it will be? I'll get back there either tomorrow or Monday to cut the roots.
Besides the '41 nickle, I also found a no date wheat cent and a '46 dime in same area.

If someone told you what it was, you wouldn't have anything to look forward to.

I'm hoping it's a silver & gold cross. . . I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Keep us posted,

Yes, I would. Now I'm looking forward to a Walker or a Silver and Gold cross. LOL.

Back when I was using my White's Spectrum, I got a simlar reading at a Catholic Church in an old historical area of town. I dug down and hit an old hand laid brick sidewalk that had been hidden from view under about 4 inches of topsoil. I was able to dislodge the brick that was covering my target. I was thinking silver also. What I found was a rare, rectangular U.S. Breast Plate, Pre-Civil War. Go figure!

I use a 300mm coil (super 12) and sometimes I get weak high vdi signals at 6+ inches. Usually, they turn out to be iron. Even a large nail at just the right depth and position will trick the machine. I've been getting better at IDing those signals but I still dig it if it's consistent in two directions. I would hate to pass up a dollar. If it says its at an inch and you already dug 5 inches then it's probably something big like a mason jar lid. I dug a mason jar lid at 18 inches that gave a strong quarter VDI reading. It could be some kind of cool relic made of brass or copper too. Good luck.

I have had this same brain fryer many times. Usually it's a whole smashed aluminum can at about 8-10 inches, but if you don't dig it, you'll never knowwwwwwwwww.............................................

Lucky, Chong and kccj, you all suck. :tongue3:

My dreams of real treasure were shattered by your negative thoughts.

First pic shows the hole with roots.
Second pic shows a bit of the object.
Third pic shows the "treasure".

I was really hoping for a coin, but after digging up about 1,000,000 deep big metal pieces I kind of knew better. But heck, I still dig them.

Hi fellow mxt user here ,curious if its a +94 or a - 94 on the vdi ? Generally with mine from past exsperiance when its a high plus its silver big silver or big brass ,gold it ussually on the lower end from a -4 to about +50 . I will offer alittle advice though to get you pumped to dig ,ussually what I do is click over in prospect mode and find out the percentage of iron in the object if its 10% through 40% its something really good in the earth . I just baught a double d coil for mine and thrashed the 9.5 stock becuase of the ground coverage is not good on 9.5 stock its cone shaped in the area under the coil when you search verses the the double d is straight down and better depth .

Good Luck Digging !

My guess is it's probably nothing. When I first got mine I went around my yard and I was getting +94 every other swing. I thought a bank must have exploded years ago and there were silver dollars all over the place. Chances are it's just mineralization. But, in defense of the reading.....you gotta dig a lot of trash to get a little treasure.

I would tell you but I would have to down grade first. It not going to happen, so I guess you will have to keep guessing. Good Luck
