I went to a new field today just for a look... It is a very small field, about 80 x30 metres but it had lots of targets for such a small area. I got a lot of musket balls from different calibers, round and mini balls. Some coins and two religious pendants, a bicycle token from "Sophia Jacoba" a coal mine in my town, my favorite for today! The mine was closed in the 90s after 80 years. Both my father and my grandpa worked there. :headbang: Some coins from the 1800s and one big beauty, not identified yet. Very large copper with beautiful patina. Had a little silver ring too.

A popular place for men with many different types of guns. Possibly a hunting camp?

Nice finds!

A beautiful, innocent child's baby doll found in all that evidence of death and destruction.
I like it!

Thanks! Don't think hunting camp. We had no hunting camps like You know them over there and this area has no large forests. Most is farmland for at least 1000 years...

It's difficult to read, so at this moment i only know 176x. That matches with the musket balls....

Hi Cru! :hello: Any ideas on the coin? Did You see the bronze/copper nail? My first guess was roman, but no other finds.

Most of that lead looks like shotgun slugs.

If You look close You can see that all minie type balls are shot from rifled barrels. These are standard military caliber from 15mm to 18mm.

Date of the coin is 1764. But still not able to identify. Diameter is 32mm. Copper. Anyone who knows?

Hi Papa Bear! It's a 1948 D. Like to use something nice for reference instead of a clad quarter or dime. Hope to find a silver dime someday....

Thanks! A silver one would made my day. I have some more out of a wooded stripe along these fields, but never hit silver. They are scarce where i live....
