For those who follow the Today's Finds forum, this came to light there under this post.

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/339050-blessing-very-perplexing-problem.html

Here's the gist:

Non-magnetic, concretion of some sort, possible coin, button, rivet, etc. The one pic is as best as I can get for size.
Found in very mineralized ground and about 10 inches deep.

Thoughts? Also, should I even try to separate them?

OKAY...... soooooo just who's idea was it to hit this with a hammer?! >:(

AND..... more than that!!! Who's idea was it that if that didn't work, to get a bigger hammer!!! ??? >:( >:(

So, I gets my ball peen hammer and I take a swing.

Nothin!!!

THEN, I break out my 20 pound maul.

Again, nothing doing!!!

I then used my jackhammer, that worked!

A lil tooo well.

But, it's you guys fault!!! :( You insisted on using a hammer!! :dontknow:

Here's your result.

of course, I'm just doing a bit of tuggage of the leg up there. ;)

What I really did was to soak it in olive oil overnight.

Then, with no results, I soaked it in vinegar,

Still not having much luck though.

I tried freezing it.

Then dropped it in boiling peroxide.

I saw just the slightest glint of silver.

Figuring if a little helped well then, all I needed was "MORE POWER!!!!! AUGH AUGH AUGH!!!"

I got some dry ice and froze it properly then dropped it in a vat of boiling hot acid from my testing kit!

Again, more silver!!!!!! :)

So, I called together a committee and we discussed voted and decided on another suggestion.

I finally took a picture of Holly Snow's avatar and as suggested, put them together under my pillow to allow it to
soak up the warmth! (Nicest night of sleep I ever had! ;) )

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY!!!! The crud completely melted away!

I give you the final result.

Thanks for the suggestion!!! AND thank you Holly!!!! :tongue3:

Anybody believing the aforementioned malarkey, I have a bridge to sell too, cheap!! ;)

Actually and in the seriousness that reality often brings. Here's the actual result.

Resolution? Brass tack, nail, rivet, etc. head. :dontknow:

Thanks for all the responses and help. Sorry it didn't turn out to be the treasure we all hoped. :)
