Now that's research.

There was a gentleman in our Placerville area that was called the goat doctor. He would cure you for one silver dollar. He lived in a shack outside of town and my wife's Mom would drive there often with people. He died and the shack burnt down. The new owners had the spot leveled with tracker and while smoothing out the dirt broke open several jars of silver dollars that were spread out by the blade.

That being said, the old lady did not bury the coins very deep...
