I new to this MD hobby and in my discussions with locals I've heard mention of a cannon filled with gold and buried around Mountain Lake during the Civil War. I've searched the internet and found articles on civil war activity around Mountain Lake, however, no specific mention of this cannon. I'm not sure if it's just a local myth or if there is some fact to the story. There seems to be a great deal of collective wisdom on this site so I thought I would ask if anyone know where I might find info on this subject. Thanks & HH
