Got out for a short hunt to the nastiest, thickest, most brushy horrible spot I've ever tried to detect! I knew there was a foundation hole somewhere on this river bank and I was standing in it when I discovered it. It's that damn thick in there. TERRIBLE place. Intelligent people would never try to detect this spot so without hesitation this dumb ass headed in. I found a few things including a couple of big old buttons, a bell, an axe head, clock winder?, and an 1818 Large Cent in decent condition for the location. Could not wait to get out of that mess! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I'm so fortunate to have an amazing one. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

See I spelled Day wrong....told you I was a dumb ass :-)

That is an awesome LC. Congrats. Nice looking sticker patch... (insert Brer Rabbit joke here)...
Thanks Tom. Yes Brer Rabbit :-) good memories

Nice bell, that alone would make it worth it.
Tought to get, and when you do often broken.
Not only the bush in those kinds of places, but the roots are not a lot of fun either.

All those hard to hunt spots are the ones others have avoided, so you never know what might turn up. And I see you did pretty well. Hope you can get into that loaded 17th century spot you've been looking for, and soon. Good luck!

Bill I just sent a letter to a guy that owns a property with a 1630s homestead that was there for nearly 40 years. Which is completely unheard of for that time period. I don't have high hopes as he's got the reputation for being kind of mean and grumpy. So I wrote a nice letter as he lives down a big long gated road with cameras everywhere.

Hey Bud I'm gonna head back when it's cooler out. I think there's gonna be some nice stuff around as there was a mid 1700s mill site and bridge. Also a small foundation near by. My first bell of that style. I'm digging it too

That brush isn't anything a little napalm wouldn't take care of! Sweet finds. What part of Maine are you in?
