Got out for a short hunt to the nastiest, thickest, most brushy horrible spot I've ever tried to detect! I knew there was a foundation hole somewhere on this river bank and I was standing in it when I discovered it. It's that damn thick in there. TERRIBLE place. Intelligent people would never try to detect this spot so without hesitation this dumb ass headed in. I found a few things including a couple of big old buttons, a bell, an axe head, clock winder?, and an 1818 Large Cent in decent condition for the location. Could not wait to get out of that mess! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I'm so fortunate to have an amazing one. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Great effort---- them places can hold the good stuff as few will even be bothered to try to hunt them spots !!

Had a couple of melt downs in the bush today :-) Detector stuck in vines, getting stuck in the bushes. Pretty frustrating but I like going to places no one else would bother with.

This isn't the thick part but it gives an idea anyway. The thick parts I could barely move much less pull my phone out and take a pic. I know this place has got good stuff you just have to be in the right mindset I think

I LOVE YOU GUYS :-) No seriously you guys are the best. And I wish you both a very happy Mother's Day. You're 2 of the best

Wow, that largie looks awesome, Abe. Take a machete with you next time. There might be an old capped bust dime in there. Best of luck!

Definitely no capped bust there......that is made of silver !!!

I guess you don't have a threat of anyone else detecting your site there huh?

It would be a site like that , that would have some of the best targets, you are hardcore !

Agreed IH I'm sure there's some good ones there. There's also a 1700s bridge about 40 feet away. It was really humid and buggy today and I think some cooler day it'll be easier to deal with. Just need to get in the right mind set and put the sniper on. Nothing was deep anyway

Awesome finds Ahab, never get tired of seeing those green discs come out of the hole

Nice finds man! Congrats on the LC! I hunt places like that as well, it's where the goodies are. You gotta look for the less obvious places....

Yeah I usually try to pick out the hard to find places. I'm looking at an 1800 mill site that's prob a 4 mile one way walk and I have to cross a river. It may suck but it may be great. Worth the try

Hey, you got out.......I worked. Life isn't fair sometimes! Congrats on some nice finds, even if you haven't found all the ticks yet, lol.

OD you need to take a few days and do nothing but detect. I've had 4 ticks on me each of the last 2 times out. They are terrible this year. Just terrible. I'm thinking about taking a couple days and just doing marathon hunts. I'm ready for some long ones

I'm laughing to myself, because I can identify with the situation. Sometimes I ask myself "What the hell am I doing here?"

I think that LC was worth it though.

Yes sir, you are right about the ticks. After this very long, cold winter, I thought we would have those little buggers on the run, but I think they are worse this year than for the last 5 or 6 years.
