My plan B was not to continue on the 'Medieval Hunt' (& do a grass paddock that would be less sticky) because the recent rain with today's heavy showers & strong winds would have made the clay soil a nightmare heavy boot dance.
Instead I wanted to visit 2 farmers to show them last years finds & to keep up relations. We believe it's very important to see every land-owner at least once a year. (not easy with as many as we have & they are busy!) This builds the relationship & ensures they are still happy with us continuing.
As we had not booked these visits we got lucky with both & very lucky with one as he is moving house soon. (so got his new contact)
We discovered about another 5 fields that are available, & as Cru'dad was hungry from some Roman Coins this month we decided on Plan C. A low yield Site on a hill - very exposed with this wind though!
Although by our standards this was pretty low, I'm strongly encouraged that our next outing will improve. This was our best total from this field, 3.5 hrs;

11 scrappies
17th C Token
Cloth Seal
Spec. Buckle
17th C Leather Mount
Circa 1400BC Middle Bronze Age Spear Head (No point but its the largest piece of this type we have ever had.):icon_thumright:

Once again, your "Plan C" would be the hunt of my lifetime. Well done!

It's always good to have a backup plan. Yours paid off well.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Gotta love Bronze Age stuff! Looks like it was broken by agricultural activity after being buried for some time, I'd bet the tip is lurking somewhere in that field too. Ever find bronze arrowheads during your hunts? I haven't seen many at all from the UK.

Nope, lots of spear points (tips) & bits of Axe, plus 1 complete one.

Love that Bronze Age stuff! Congrats!
What brought us to this spot in the pass was a stunning crop-mark. However, it was a total blank & these coins are no-where near it. So we thought this crop-mark might have been Bronze Age. I hope this is the 'first clue' & not the last one.

Congrats on plan C, nice finds! :occasion14:
