more junk?????

I don't see any junk! All of that is possibly CW relics. I recognized the heel plates right off, very common for soldiers of either side if the Confederacy soldiers even had shoes that is. The first item could very well have been a uniform badge with fasteners on two posts on the back. The other stuff??? Could be junque as we don't have junk on tnet. The proper terms are crappe' and junque. Monty

Taking a guess at the size and the weight (you didn't mention that) of the artifacts (sounds better than junk doesn't it?) I think the following

Photo 1/2
-That could be a shield applied to thick leather or wood.
-Second guess is the plate from an iron, or what is left over from an flat iron (used to iron clothes).

The second choice could be better because the fastening points appear quite massive.
I go for the second...

Photo 3
They both appear to me to be broken handles, although the left hand one could be a leg of something.

Photo 4
Yes, both are heel plates, as Monty and Gypsy mentioned.

Photo 5
don't know

Photo 6/7
Looks like a horse bronze to me. These were fastened to thick leather, made of bronze, and contained
the owners initials.

Only really guesses.... I think Crusader could help much better....

BTW, none of it is JUNK!

Here is a photo of a horse brass, this one is rectangle, but they come in all forms, round, square, this shape, etc...
This one I found and gave to the Farmers wife, this was her grandfathers farm and those are his initials.
I am told this one was attached to the horses blinders. Looking at the attachment points here on this and then looking at your first photo, I can think that that item also was a horse brass, seeing that the points are about the same size..

The second photo show examples of the forms the horse brasses took....

I found one of the little shield things. I believe it is horse tack. There's a thread somewhere back. About this one.

The shield-shaped things are called Harness Bosses.

Yes, the heel plates are correctly identified.  Now, lemme look at these other goodies...

Ok. I think the acorn things are musket parts too. I'm looking for them now. These are FAR from "junk" finds--in fact they're pretty darned Great finds!

Buckleboy I do agree with you, but over here Harness bosses are called a Horse Brass, what's in a name. I guess a Saddle boss would be somewhat smaller too. The Sexfoils from Crusader appear to be smaller and lighter to used on a persons belt, not on a thick belt or piece of leather on a horse, where something heavier like this would be used.

The Sexfoils are older time frame than anything we find here.  But over here, these pieces mentioned in my link above are called Harness Bosses.  "Horse Brass" could mean anything to me--from Saddle Bosses to Bridle Buckles to Bridle Buckle Shields to Martingales.  See?   :-\  Same thing with the term "Horse Furniture."  It's so generic...it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

P.S.--Thanks, diva.  :)  I'm enjoying the leaves here so much.  I'll be enjoying them more when they get some of my "target" fields cut so that I can view the panorama from the center of a giant bean field with the '66 on my arm.  ;D
