I've been pushing my big detector around the farm.

I've been only digging the largest targets so I knew I'd be digging some larger iron. This spot is on the top of a hill near where there was a house. There has always been a depression there. The top 6" is driveway gravel. Once I got that away I started finding glass, nails and a piece of some farm machinery. I know its not the cellar hole, I already found that. It sure seems like a strange place for a dump. Here is a pic of the hilltop, the hole, and the junk. On the left is a pile of nails some are square. Behind them is the can they were in. The pile of glass next to the nails is one object. In the center is a sprocket, iron thingy, neck from a bottle, and crockery. The pile of glass to the right of that is one object. Pieces of a coffee cup on the far right. Some of the glass has air bubbles. I might see if I can piece some of it together.

I finally got it out. Its a lever from some farm machine. And a pic of the total from the hole so far. The hole is about a foot deep and a foot across. I'm going to have to find some dirt to fill in. ;)

Gonna get some rain so it'll be a few days until it dries out.
