Beautiful finds...the pumice stones may actually be pottery balls. Pottery balls were used by Indians as a way of keeping liquids or food warm...first heated in the fire then dropped into vessels.

Glad to see you are able to get out and hunt as we are still buried in snow!!!!
 

I have some of those sandstone type balls. We call them "Indian Game Balls" I have heard several different theories on them from..a warming ball like Gypsie said, as medicine balls used for healing, and for games played by the indians? I have one that pretty good size it is about as big as a tennis ball. the others I have are about the size of a large marble. They are cool finds though.

Such nice colors River, some student could sure use your collections to make a nice science fair project.

I used leaves as a project one year, the darn things dried up before judging... why didn't I think of stones ???

thats some awsome finds there river rat. me and a buddy are going to go here in acouple of weeks, to a place where he has hunted arrowheads before. i will let you know what we turn up
