Hey gang,
It poured the entire day here in Aiken. Yesterday it was absolutely gorgeous out!! Well anyway, I had planned on hitting a couple of schools today. I bundled up and grabbed the rain gear and headed out. Because it rained, I decided to hit a local park too. I only get to hunt there when it's raining because there are so many kids on the playground most of the time. I scanned around the first set of swings and got nothing. Hit the second set of swings and started hitting a little clad. Then BEEP, I looked down and found a SAC dollar. WooHoo! That makes my 6th one! It started pouring rain again and I pretty much headed for the car and was doing some fast swinging. I slowed down in this one area and Beep, looked down and found my first Silver ring for this year! Happy dance!! ;D

I went back to the car and looked at my find and sure enough it said STERLING.
Then I drove over to the Middle School and it started pouring again. I was hitting a few dimes and pennies. It was pretty much a bust. I was tired and wet and was poking around in some mud and found a piece to a broken ring and then looked over about two inches and spotted something shiny. I picked it up and it's definitely a stone from a ring. I said to myself I couldn't be lucky enough for it to be a diamond, but it sure looks like one. The picture does not do it justice, this stone shines like crazy. The only thing is that it's got a gouge in it, and it makes me wonder if a diamond would break that easy. Is it possible that when it was knocked out of it's setting it could have chipped that much? Any advice would be appreciated. I'll take it to a jeweler and see what they say too.

Thanks for looking!

HH everyone!

Congrats Moon! Maybe it got hit by a lawn mower?

I assumed that it broke when it was knocked out of it's setting. The jeweler agreed and even said that diamonds will do the same thing.
